Knight 18 October 1886 - 20 January 1975 The Denison Herald .Sunday, October 16, 1921 pg. 2 SADLER MAN CRUSHED TO DEATH UNDER CAR Ira [sic] Knight, 38, Killed in Auto Accident Sherman, October 15 - Ira [sic] Knight, 38, was killed in an automobile accident late Friday afternoon while returning to his home near Sadler from Sherman. In going around a wagon, the machine went into the ditch along the road, turned over and crushed Knight to death. The tragedy occurred near the Simpson ranch, sixteen miles west of Sherman, on the Whitesboro road. Mrs. Pearman, mother-in-law of Mr. Knight, was in the car but was not injured. Knight is survived by a wife and two sons, 7 and 9 years old. The family lived on a farm one mile from Sadler. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. Editor's Note: Texas Death Certificate #27921 shows name as "Ira Albert Knight"; he had lived in Sadler 2 years at the time of his death.
