SHERMAN – Funeral services for Cynthia Ann Stephens, 51, will be held Wednesday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Wesley Phillips officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sadler Cemetery. Family visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 6, from 7 – 8 p.m. She passed away at her home on September 2, 2011. Cynthia Ann Stephens was born on March 10, 1960 to Ira Leo and Jo Ann (Morris) Yancy in Odessa, TX. She married David Stephens on December 17, 1981 in Odessa, TX. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a church pianist from the age of 12 throughout her life. She was a devout Christian and loved to witness to others. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved her children and grandchildren. Cynthia was involved with Hometown Heroes of Van Alstyne. She was proud of her son that is serving in the Army (82nd Airborne) and started an Army moms group online. She is survived by her husband, David Stephens of Sherman, TX; daughter, Kameron Copass and husband, Brad, of Van Alstyne, TX; son, Dustin Stephens and wife, Nancy, of Ft. Bragg, NC; step-children: Ryan Stephens and wife, Melissa, of Lees Summit, MO; Terri Pendleton and husband, Scott, of Kansas City, KS; David Stephens and wife, Renee, of McKinney, TX; grandchildren: Ainsley Stephens, Cy Bradley and Kenadee Copass, Tanner Stephens, Harper Stephens, and Cayman Stephens; mother, JoAnn Yancy of Van Alstyne, TX; and sister Judy Blackburn of Canyon Lake, TX.
