Monday, October 18, 1920 pg 2 After an illness of several months duration, Charles H. Barnes, a well known citizen of the Sadler community, ended his own life at his home there, Sunday evening about 9 o'clock. Mr. Barnes was 46 years of age, and had lived at Sadler for about fourteen years. Deceased was born in Texas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Barnes of Sherman. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife and by eight children; also two sisters and five brothers. All of the surviving relatives reside in Grayson County except a son, Charles Barnes Jr., who is in Italy, in the Naval service, and a brother, at Jacksboro, Texas. Mr. Barnes was a good man, holding the respect and confidence of all who knew him. His death is universally regretted, and the members of the surviving family will have the deepest sympathy of all. In his death, the community in which he has lived for the past fourteen years has lost one of its best citizens. Judge R. A. McCrary of this city held the inquest. Funeral services were held from the family home at Sadler Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the John C. Dannel Undertaking Company of this city having charge of the arrangements. Ferrell of Sherman were here Monday to attend the funeral of Mr. Chas. Barnes who passed away Sunday night at his home 4 miles west of here. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Drennan of Denison from the Christian Church at Sadler. Those from this place who attended the funeral of Mr. Chas. Barnes were Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Dryden and Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Jewell.  Minnie M.
