Mary E. Douglass 1869 - 1966 Jesse W. Douglass 1863 - 1936 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, March 5, 1936 pg.5 MORTUARY Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Baptist tabernacle at Sadler for J.W. Douglas [sic], father of E.A. Douglas of Whitewright. The deceased had been a citizen of the Sadler community for over 50 years, and was one of the best known citizens of that section. Mr. Douglas was born June 27, 1863 in Mississippi. He came to Texas in 1883 and married Miss Mary E. Richardson at Sadler September 6, 1888. He is survived by his wife and 11 children: Miss Myrtle Douglas of Sadler; Miss Mamie Lee Douglas and Mrs. T.G. Durham of Dallas; Mrs. Ira Jennings and Mrs. John Eldredge of Whitesboro; Mrs. D.B. Barnes of Commerce; Mrs. Ida Mickey of Pottsboro; Mrs. Glen Mitchell of Collinsville; E.A. Douglas of Whitewright; Lonnie Douglas of Kansas City, Missouri; and Vestal Douglas of San A ngelo. Several from Whitewright attended the funeral service. R.R. Waldo, funeral director, had charge of the funeral arrangements.
