Thursday, March 23, 1939 pg. 5 J.J. Sanford, 66, well-know retired farmer of Bells, died at 2:30 a.m. today. Funeral services will be held at the Bells Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, conducted by Rev. C. Chumbley. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Bells, directed by Earnheart. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Annie Sanford; a son, Lonnie (Happy) Sanford of Bells; and two daughters, Mrs. Hilliard Wilson of Bells and Mrs. Mary Cole of Gilmer. Lonnie Sanford's wife is the former Miss Venita Jenkins of Whitewright.
