SAVOY - Cody Michael McMorris, 18, passed away at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Cody was a Christian and he loved the Lord. God wrapped his arms around Cody and took him home on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.
Cody was born to Mike and Carie (Peacock) McMorris on February 9, 1993 at TMC in Denison, Texas. He was a 2011 graduate of Savoy High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He was an assistant manager for Just Brakes.
He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cody is survived by his parents, Mike and Carie McMorris and his brother, Cory McMorris all of Savoy; grandmothers, Flo Peacock and Joyce McMorris; aunts and uncles, Lawana and Kevin Gourley, Randy and Rhonda Peacock, Billy Peacock, Michael Peacock, Paula and the late Roy Kuykendall, Kenny and Mary Lou Kimbrell and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Ellis and Levona Kinnamon; grandfathers, Ace McMorris and Robert Dean Peacock.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Savoy High School, conducted by Rev. Virgil Cornwell and Jerimah Ora. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery, Bells. Those serving as pallbearers were Jeremy Kimbrell, Vinyl Manohar, Kenny Kimbrell, Randy Peacock, Billy Peacock and Chris Stephens.
