Thursday, January 16, 1947 pg. 5 Mrs. Minnie Ethel Jenkins, wife of Walter Jenkins, died at 8:10 a.m. today at the Wilson N. Jones Hospital, Sherman, following a 4-day illness. She was stricken with paralysis at her home here Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, conducted by Homer Reeves of Sherman and Connie Hollis of Leonard, ministers of the Church of Christ. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, east of Bells. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Glen Earnheart. Mrs. Jenkins was born September 3, 1878 [sic] in Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Carter, who moved to Texas many years ago and settled in the Orangeville community southeast of Whitewright. She was married on February 25, 1900, to Mr. Jenkins and they moved to Whitewright in 1920. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Carl Jenkins of Dallas and Earl Jenkins of Leonard, Louisiana; a daughter, Mrs. Venita Sanford of Bells; a brother, Robert Carter, of Sherman; and three sisters, Mrs. Edith Story of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Mrs. Helen Sullivan and Mrs. Etta Owens of Whitewright.
