Thursday, August 17, 1967 pg. 1 Bells - Funeral services were held Sunday in the First Methodist Church here for Mrs. Lela McCollum, 72, of Bells, who died in a Denison rest home at 1:30 a.m. Friday, August 11, 1967, after a long illness. Rev. W.S. Collins, pastor of the church, conducted the service. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, directed by Mullican-Little Funeral Home. Mrs. McCollum was born September 22, 1894 in Louden, Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Stamey. She had lived in this area since a child. She was a member of the Methodist church and was a waitress and had worked for Hardwicke-Etter in Sherman. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Delia Cox of Denison; Mrs. Dee Smith of Bells; and Miss Vaden Stamey of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.
