Thursday, August 7, 1924 pg.5 Information came to John Gladden Wednesday afternoon that his mother, 71 years of age, died suddenly at her home south of Savoy. Besides John, her son, the deceased is survived by her husband and a daughter, Mrs. Kirby, who resids near Tom Bean. The family resided for several years in and near Whitewright and the news of the aged lady's death was received with sincere regret by her friends and acquaintances here. The Whitewright Sun Thursday, October 8, 1936 pg. 1 MORTUARY William Younger Gladden, 82, retired farmer, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday at his residence on Sherman route 1. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery near Bells, Rev. Claud Johnston, pastor of the North Patk Baptist Church of Sherman, officiating. A native of Missouri, Mr. Gladden was born November 1, 1853 [sic]. He was engaged in farming near Whitewright for a number of years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Susie Edmondson of Anna; Mrs. W.T. Kirby of Bells; and Mrs. Julia Sharp of Denison; ond sister, Mrs. Jane Vera of Lamar, Missouri; one brother, E.J.
