Thursday, October 21, 1971 pg. 4 Services for Rev. Calvin Simpson, 71, a retired Baptist minister, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells. He died last Thursday at 9:30 p.m. in a Bonham hospital after a long illness. Rev. Simpson was born June 25, 1900 in Macon Georgia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elec Simpson. He married Pearlie Chapman September 8, 1928 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He had been a Baptist preacher in Fannin and Grayson counties for 31 years before his retirement. He had lived in Bells since 1939. Rev. Larry Rolison, First Baptist minister of Bells, and Rev. Robert Burnett, Baptist minister from Greenville, officiated with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Bells. Survivors are his wife; two sons, George Truett Simpson of Bonham and Walter Calvin Simpson of the U.S. Army in Germany; three daughter, Mrs. Velma Dawson of Garland; Mrs. Marily Monk of Bells; and Mrs. Alene Author of Lubbock; one sister, Mrs. Clifford House of Denison; and nine grandchildren.
