  Opha Brooksie Jenkins 13 June 19117 - 5 October 2009 Isaac "Ike" Jenkins 1 August 1911 - 2 April 2004 wed 19 November 1938  Opha Jenkins was born in McKenzie, Tennessee on June 13, 1917 and departed on October 6, 2009 and resided in Bells, Texas. Funeral service was scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2009 with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery.} Opha met and married Ike Jenkins at a town dance and they married November 19, 1938 at Charleston, Missouri. They lived in Sikeston for 10 years then brought their family to Texas in the late 1940s. They settled in Raymondville, Texas and raised their children. She was a lifetime member of the Foursquare Gospel Church. After Ike retired in 1975 they moved to Bells, Texas where they owned and operated the Bells Laundramat until 1980. Opha was an avid quilter. She quilted many quilts for her children and grandchildren, she was also an awesome cook. She was lovingly known as "Granny Great". She enjoyed the yearly Jenkins Family reunion. She celebrated her 92nd birthday at the family reunion in June at Corpus Christie, Texas with family and friends.
