Denison,
Texas, June 24, - W.F. Hasters, one of the
first settlers of this city,
suicided yesterday by taking morphine.
He was living on a farm, 5
miles in country. Early yesterday he
walked into town, bought 12
grains of morphine, walked home, poured
the drug into a cup of water
and holding it up before his family said:
"Here
is a good-bye to all my friends," and he
drank it down. It was several hours
before a physician arrived, when it was
too late to save
him.
