Monday October 8, 1900 pg 1 AN ESCAPE From the Grayson County Insane Hospital This Morning The grounds police are looking high and low for Mrs. Callie Kettle, whose escape from that institution was discovered this morning. She was adjudged insane several months since. It developed on trial that one besetting mania was a desire to do violence to her mother. Sherman Daily Register Tuesday, October 9, 1900 pg. 1 RUNAWAY RETAKEN Captured Nine Miles From Hospital Last Night Yesterday mention was made of the escape of Callie Kettle from the county asylum for the insane. The grounds police got on her trail and succeeded in retaking her 9 miles north of the hospital late last night. She was taken back. Susan Hawkins
