Claudie Huff, the insane Negro girl who
escaped from the county farm the first of
the week and then who ran away from Jailer
Steele that same day, ran away from the farm
again last night. Dr. W.D. Poe
discovered her north of the city early this
morning and brought her to the jail.
Manager Joe Sammon of the farm says he
guesses he will have to put a ball and chain
on her. It is rather mysterious how
she was able to get over a 9 foot iron
picket fence last night. She is a good
runner, so says Mr. Steele for he chased her
all over town the other morning.
