The Denison Daily Herald Thursday, February 13, 1908 pg. 7 THE DEATH ROLL J.C. Combs, aged 56 years, who had resided in Grayson County during the past twenty-five years, died last Tuesday night at 11 o'clock at his home near Preston Bend, fifteen miles northwest of Denison after a lingering illness from consumption. He is survived by his wife and two grown children. Up to two years ago Mr. Combs was a resident of Denison, having purchased a home on Texas Street, but owing to ill health he moved back in the country. The funeral took place this morning at 10 o'clock from his late home and services were conducted in the Coffey Chapel. Interment was made in the Coffey Cemetery.
