  Lilly Austin Holmes 1895 - 1973 Dallas Morning News November 25, 1934 PRESTON BEND GIRL SUCCUMBS TO BURNS Special to The News Denison, Texas, November 24 - Charred from head to foot when her clothing became ignited at a trash fire in the yard of the family home Friday morning, Elvadin Holmes, 6, daughter of Mrs. Lilly Holmes of the Preston Bend community, died in a local hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Preston by Rev. L.R. Lamb, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Denison, burial following at Preston Cemetery. Surviving besides the mother are a brother, Leonard Austin of California; and a sister, Melvagin Holmes of Preston.
