Jon Morris Hansen, 77, earned his wings in the early hours of April 27, 2022.  He was born on June 19, 1944 in Tucson, Arizona, son of Charles W. and Mary  Marguerite Hunt Hansen.
Jon attended and graduated in 1962 from Camelback High School in Phoenix, Arizona.  He enrolled and briefly attended community college in Phoenix, Arizona in 1963; but, decided in January 1964 to enlist in the U.S. Air Force.  Jon ranked as an A2C, doing his basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio.  Following his basic training, he spent several months doing "tech" training at Amarillo AFB.  From there he went overseas, first serving at Rnein Main AFB in West Germany and transferred to Incirlik AFB in Turkey where he remained on station until near the end of his tour duty.
On his return from Turkey, Jon spent a brief time at Perrin AFB in Denison, Texas before exiting military service around August 5, 1966.  Jon met Brenda Sartor at Watson's Drive-In on Main Street.  Jon was with his Air Force buddies and Brenda was with her friends.  Jon and Brenda continued dating and eventually married April 14, 1967 in Denison at Nancy Durham's house.  Jon always talked about how he loved his in-law's cooking and enjoyed spending time at their home.
in 1967 Jon went to work for the owner of Custom Crete.  His career started in Denison and later moved to Dallas, where he served over 40 years and ultimately retired from the company.
Jon and Brenda had one son, Jon Neil, on April 7, 1971 in Dallas.  In 1973 they moved to Allen, Texas and remained until 2006.  Jon enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at Lake Texoma going swimming, fishing and having picnics.  When Jon's son was older, they would attend air shows, NASCAR races, and car show events.
Jon always mentioned how thankful he was that Jon Neil found his wife, Leigh Ann.  He was so proud of them both and enjoyed their time together.  Jon's older brother, Steve and his wife, Karen, who lived in California, were also a huge part of Jon's life.  Jon would often brag about how smart Steve was to anyone who would listen.
Jon also had a very dear friend named Sherry, and she was by his side so much of the last 3 years.  They would go on day trips, enjoyed visiting a nearby pond to feed ducks, and valued each other's company so much.  She was a blessing; and we are so thankful for her.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; father and mother-in-law, James Andis Sartor and wife, Lorene Bentley; sister-in-law, Judy Darlene Sartor; and niece, Madison Hartin-Sartor.
Jon is survived by his son, Jon Neil Hansen and wife, Leigh Ann, of Lewisville; brother, Stephen Hansen and wife, Karen, of California; brothers-in-law, James Sartor and wife, Chrissie, of Denton; and Daryl Sartor of Denison.  He also leaves nephews: Dain Hansen and wife, Nani; James Ryan Sartor and wife, Kaci; nieces: Molly A. Johnson and husband, Steve; Alicia Rai Sartor Neal and husband, Kevin; great-nieces and nephews: Tiffany Sartor, Rylie Hansen, Sylvia Rose Johnson, Myra Jean Johnson, James Daniel Sartor and Daniel Ryker Hansen.  He will be missed by many other dear family members and friends.
Services were held Saturday morning, June 18, 2022 at Preston Bend Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas with his nephew, James  Ryan Sartor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jon's name to Operation Kindness Animal Shelter, www.operationkindness.org, where they adopted their beloved cats.
