Vernell Magers 20 April 1893 - 9 November 1970 W.T. Magers 23 August 1887 - 1 June 1970 wed 11 April 1909 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, November 12, 1970 pg.8 Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at North Park Baptist Church for Mrs. William T. Magers, 77, longtime resident of Sherman who died at 5:15 a.m. Monday at the Whitewright nursing home. She formerly resided at 915 E. Brockett St., Sherman. Services were conducted by Rev. A.W. Blaine, pastor of the North Park Baptist Church and burial was at Pilot Grove Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Magers was born April 20, 1893, at Glassglow Junction, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Reynolds. She was the former Vernell Reynolds before her marriage on April 11, 1909. Mr. Magers preceded her in death, June 1, 1970. She had lived in Sherman for 45 years until about one year ago at which time she moved to Whitewright. She was a member of the North Park Baptist Church. Survivors are one son, Millard Magers of Fort Worth; one daughter, Mrs. Lorene Clayton of Kress; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Wortham of Anna; and Mrs. Ed Henderson of Leonard; three grandchildren, three great-grandchilren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ray Henderson, Albert Reeves, Dove Henderson, Bob Andrews, Bill Henderson and Jack Andrews.
