Dixon, 81, died at his home in Denison Tuesday of last week. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in Denison, and burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Mr. Dixon was born September 10, 1880, in Allen County, Kentucky, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dixon, and attended school in Kentucky and at the Canaan community north of Whitewright. He married Miss Carrie Elizabeth Holland August 30, 1903 in Trenton. He was a farmer in the Whitewright area for many years and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife; four sons, Clarence Dixon of Dallas, James M. Dixon of Denison, Frank Dixon of Waco and Carl Dixon of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Bob Andrew of Whitewright and Mrs. E.G. Osborn of Jacksonville; a brother, Homer E. Dixon of Guymon, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. T.L. Dicken and Mrs. J.L. Dohanon of Kirkland. The Whitewright Sun Thursday, January 20, 1972 pg.5 Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Earnheart chapel for Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Dixon, 86, retired housewife who died Sunday in a Whitewright nursing home. Rev. Douglas Rymer and Rev. Richard Agan officiated and burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Dixon was born in Whitewright, the daughterof Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Holland. She married G.B. Dixon in 1901 at Orangeville. She was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons: C.E. Dixon of Dallas; J.M. Dixon of Denison; B.F. Dixon of Austin and C.D. Dixon of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Belle Andrews of Whitewright and Mrs. Pauline Osborn of Jacksonville, Texas; three brothers, Carl Holland of Whitewright; Walker Holland of Whitesboro; and Robert Holland of Lockney; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Biggerstaff and Miss Lillie Mae Holland, both of Sherman; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
