The Whitewright Sun Thursday, May 24, 1985 pg. 12 Pilot Grove News Cemetery News: For the first time in my memory, 2 graveside services were held in Pilot Grove cemetery at the same hour. Mrs. Elsie (Ashenhurst) Reynolds of Arlington, long-time Pilot Grove resident, and mother of Joe Reynolds was laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17th. Services for Miss Foy Reeves of Ft. Worth, were held nearby at the same time. If flowers are an indication of love, those 2 ladies were certainly well loved. One of those attending Miss Reeves' funeral was her nephew, W.L. "Pooch" McDonald of Anson, Texas. He came over to the store and we got acquainted. He was born near Bethel, but his father moved the family west, when he was around 10 years old. He tells me that his grandfather, William D. McDonald, was a charter member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Miss Foy Reeves was a daughter of W.C. Reeves, who with his brother, Horace, established a drug store in beautiful downtown Pilot Grove in the year 1875.
