The Whitewright Sun Thursday, January 15, 1953 pg. 1 Robert Dewey Miller, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Miller of Pilot Grove, was killed instantly at Venus Saturday night when the car in which he was riding alone was sturck by a train at a grade crossing. He had been living with his uncle near Waxahachie while working in a dairy. Funeral services were held Monday at the Pilot Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ross Bourland. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery, directed by Earnheart. The youth was born February 26, 1934 at Sherman. The family lived near Bells for several years before moving to Pilot Grove two years ago. He was a member of the Bells Baptist Church. Surviving are his parents; three brothers, Billy Ray Miller of Wylie; Kenneth Lee Miller and Benton Tommy Miller of Pilot Grove; two sisters, Mrs. W.H. Bowden of Sherman and Miss Judy Miller of Pilot Grove; his grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Lee Anderson of Los Angeles, California; and his great-grandfather, A.C. Pruett of Garland. Mr. Miller died Friday at 10:30 a.m. after a tractor turned over, throwing him into a creek and pinning him under the water. He was working for Charlie Kaiser when the accident occurred. Rev. Leroy Martin, Sherman, pastor of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church, officiated at the services Saturday. Born July 4, 1898, Mr. Sloan was the son of the late Robert and Catherine Miller, Pilot Grove. He was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estelle Miller; three sons, Billy Miller and Kenneth Miller of Anson and Tommy Miller of Pilot Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Bowden, Sherman, and Miss Judy Miller, Pilot Grove; one brother, A.O. Miller, Garland; two sisters, Mrs. Leata Stevens, Colbert, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Mattie Lou Stevens, Visalia, California.
