Strategic Command 30 Years The Herald Democrat January 21, 2011 SHERMAN - Funeral services for Nona Velma Moore, age 98, of Sherman will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cass French of Pecan Grove Church will officiate and the burial will follow at Pilot Grove Cemetery. She passed away on Jan. 19, 2011 at her residence in Sherman. She was born on June 6, 1912, the daughter of William Foster Caraway and Lee Hopper Caraway. Velma married Woodrow Moore in October of 1949. He preceded her in death in 1986. Velma loved oil painting and all kinds of crafts. She was a friend to all and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Kent of Sherman and Barbara Kirbie and husband Bill of Azle; nine grandchildren, Pat McMahan, Mike McMahan, Robin McMahan, Dennis McMahan, LeaAnn Wood, Carol Mitchell, Rick Hamrick, Tim Hamrick and Greg Kirbie; 25 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two grandchildren, Harry Agee and Johnny Agee, and five great-grandchildren, Will Wood, Heather Agee, Hope Mitchell, Kristian Mitchell and Alexander Jackson. Family night will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, Texas 75090.
