Grove, Texas -- Oden Wesley Ketner, 66, of Pilot Grove, Texas passed
away on May 18, 2016 in Denison, Texas. He was surrounded by his family
at the time of his passing.
Oden was born in Sherman, Texas to Curtis and Opal Ketner on March 31, 1950. Oden was a Husband, a Father, a Brother, a Pa-Paw and an old-school go-getter. He was employed at Denison Industries for the past 7 years, and with Sherman Wire for 32 years prior. He spent many-a-weekends bartering at trade-day events and flee-markets all over North Texas, and was known by many as the “Hubcap King”. His passions included western movies, classic automobiles and playing dominoes. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He would tell you that there is nothing greater than having grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him. Oden Wesley Ketner is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue Ketner; brother, Scott Ketner of Bells, Texas, 3 sisters; Judy Phillips of Whitewright, Texas, Opal Southerland of Melissa, Texas and Nancy Bell of Anna, Texas; 2 sons, Eric Ketner, of Bonham, Texas and Gary Ketner of Pilot Grove, Texas; daughter; Lisa Marlow of Argyle, Texas, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Opal Ketner; brothers, Curtis, Richard and Troy Ketner; and his grandson, Dylan Marlow. A funeral service was held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, with Shannon Jackson officiating. Burial followed at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory. ~ ~ ~ Scoggins Funeral Home Pilot Grove, Texas - Connie Sue Lamb Ketner, 67, of Pilot Grove, Texas was a charismatic woman. On October 10, 2017 in Argyle, Texas she submitted to her battle with breast cancer while on hospice care. Sue was born in Newport, Arkansas to Willard "Buck" and Marie Lamb on May 13, 1950. Sue was a Wife, Mother, a Sister, a Na-Na and a Christian. She was a homemaker the majority of her life and had dedicated her life to raising her children. Her passions included collecting dolls and music boxes, was a historian of sci-fi and classic books and films, and loved all-things-butterflies. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sue Ketner is survived by a sister, Linda Forsythe; son Eric and Jamie Ketner of Bonham; son Gary Ketner of Pilot Grove; daughter, Lisa and Chad Marlow of Argyle, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years; brother Gary Lamb; and her grandson, Dylan Morrow. A memory service was held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, followed by graveside services at Pilot Grove Cemetery.
