IN MEMORY OF GUY HENDERSON
On September 26, 1914, little Guy Henderson was born into the home of his parents, Rev. and Mrs. J.A. Henderson.
Nature endowed Guy with beautiful and attractive features.  Nature and home training also gave to him a winsome and loving disposition by which, in the eleven years of his life, not only entwined himself most endearingly into the hearts of his parents, brothers and sisters, but was also a favorite with relatives, neighbors and friends.  Among his little playmates, he was a general favorite, for his pleasant and agreeable ways drew his little friends very close to him.  And to hear Guy as coaxingly of any parents for a little chum or friends to go home with him, meant usually they could go, for very few could resist the pleading of his soft little voice and big brown eyes.  As he lay stricken and suffering during the last two weeks of his life, many anxious inquiries and tender thoughts and loving prayers were offered in his behalf.  But his suffering ceased and his beautiful little life came to an end here, at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, December 1, 1925.
His little form, gently cared for, resting under a blanket of fragrant flowers, sleeps sweetly in the Pilot Grove Cemetery where burial was made Wednesday afternoon, following an impressive funeral service at the Baptist church, conducted by his uncle, Rev. Hazelip of Randolph and Rev. C.B. Fielder of Van Alstyne.  It was impossible to seat the large crowd that came to say farewell to Guy and to extend sympathy to Rev. and Mrs. Henderson.  For not only is Brother Henderson pastor of the Baptist church here, he is also an esteemed friend and helper for one and all.
Guy's little friends, girls and boys, in their sweet childish way did their part in the service, bringing tears to the eyes of every one who saw those 24 playmates, laden with their flowers, follow the white casket down the aisle and standing by his little body sing his favorite song, "Love Lifted Me".  Yes, it was love, love of a tender Heavenly Father that lifted Guy far beyond and above all sorrow and afflictions.  And love will lift and lead his loved ones to a happy reunion after a while. - - - A Friend
