Funeral services for A.T. Scott who died at 12:15 p.m. Monday at his home near Pilot Grove, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Pilot Grove Methodist Church with interment following at Pilot Grove Cemetery.  The funeral service was in charge of Rev. J.A. Henderson, who had known the deceased for a number of years.  He was assisted by Rev. J.W. Williams of Howe, Rev. J.M. Connally of Whitewright and Rev. Adcock of Dallas.   The pallbearers were Taylor Alliston, G.W. Scott, R.A. Scott, Sidney Scott, Robert Scott and Wallace Wilson, grandsons of Mr. Scott.
Mr. Scott was born March 11, 1847 at Burksville, Kentucky, where he grew to manhood and where he resided until 1897 when he moved to Texas.  He had been a citizen of Grayson county 40 years.  He had been a farmer all his life with the exception of 7 years spent in the teaching profession when a young man.  Mr. Scott was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of the Pilot Grove community.  He was converted and joined the Presbyterian Church when a young man and had been a member of that church for more than 70 years.
Mr. Scott was married to Miss Jessie Fanny Bow at Burksville, Kentucky on February 11, 1869.  To this union were born 13 children, 10 of whom survive.  They are: A.L. Scott, G.E. Scott, J.A. Scott, John Scott, and Taylor Scott, all of whom reside near Whitewright; Irvin Scott, Trenton; W.H. Scott, Waxahachie; Mrs. Eula Williams, Sherman; Mrs. Ocie Allison, Tom Bean; and Mrs. Sue Williams, Trenton; 32 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
