St. John 13 March 1884 - 30 April 1961  Mason St. John 1876 - 1949 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, May 4, 1961 pg.1 Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday for Arthur V. St. John, 77, a retired farmer in the Pilot Grove community, who died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in his home. Rev. H.P. Williamson of Pilot Grove, Methodist minister, and Grady Langford of Tom Bean, Church of Christ minister, conducted the services. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Mr. St. John was born March 13, 1885 in Woodbury, Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. St. John. On December 18, 1910 he married Miss Minnie Matthews in Westminster. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Evans of Fort Worth and Mrs. Lynn Brooks of Dallas, and one grandchild.
