Sloan, residing on the Harris Barrett place south of this city, died at 10 o'clock last Saturday morning after a brief illness of pneumonia. She had been ill with influenza, but had apparently about recovered, when she suffered a relapse and pneumonia developed quickly. Her father is a brother of J.G. and F.M. Sloan, well known citizens of Bethel and Pilot Grove communities. The funeral was held at the home Sunday under exceedingly sad circumstances, the decedent's mother and two sisters being at the time seriously ill with influenza and her father and elder brother being indisposed from recent effects of the malady. Rev. George McCraw of Bonham conducted the funeral services and friends laid the body to rest in the new addition to the Pilot Grove Cemetery.
