Judd 26 February 1894 - 26 June 1918 MC Co. 136th Infantry The Whitewright Sun Friday, June 28, 1918 pg. 7 Walter P. Judd, one of the young men of this section leaving in the May call for the army training camps, died Wednesday morning of this week at Camp Cody, Deming, New Mexico, where he was stationed. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Judd of Pilot Grove, received notice recently that Walter was quite seriously ill with pneumonia, but were later advised by the officers in charge that he had about recovered. It appears that he suffered a relapse and the news of his death was a shock and a surprise to his family and friends. Upon the arrival of the body, which is expected Saturday, the funeral and interment will take place at the Pilot Grove Cemetery.
