Thursday, October 13, 1927 pg. 8 PILOT GROVE NEWS Mrs. Lavada Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burks, died at her home at Westminster Friday, following a long illness and an operation at a McKinney hospital several weeks ago. Funeral services were held at Westminster Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Record of Leonard. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her parents; several brothers and sisters; and her husband and four children and three step-children. No scene is sadder nor no fact more heart rending than that which robs a home of its keeper, and little children of their Mother. Mrs. Mitchell was a good woman, a good mother, not only to her own children but to the step-children. She was a good wife, neighbor and friend. The large throng of people who attended the funeral service and followed her body to its last resting place attested to the fact that she had many friends. She had been a member of the Christian Church for several years. Her relatives, so sorely bereft at her early death, have the sympathy of all, and may the providential hand of an all-wise God direct the lives of each little motherless child and comfort each broken heart.
