Pilot Grove News
Funeral services for J.G. Knox, who died at the home of his son, J.B. Knox, at Happy, Texas, were conducted at the Methodist Church Thursday at 3 p.m. by Rev. T.W. Lovell, pastor of the Trenton Methodist Church. Interment was at the Pilot Grove Cemetery.   Mr. Knox was nearing his 89th birthday.  He was born in Tennessee and came to Texas about 1880 with his family. His wife died here in 1897.  For a  good many years Mr. Knox had made his home with his son at Happy.  He is survived by 4  sons.   The funeral was attended by many of his old neighbors and some who had known him in younger days in the old state.  Brief testimony as to his life and character as neighbor, citizen and Christian was given by some of those who had known him.   Relatives from a distance who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Knox, Happy; Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Knox and sons, Wheeler and Lester, Amarillo; Bennett Knox, Yuma, Arizona; Mrs. Will Knox, Canadian; Mrs. A.G. Cox, J.B. Ownby, Miss Dell Ownby, Wolfe City; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gentry, Greenville.
