TRENTON
Mr. J.M. Prigmore died at his home near Pilot Grove on the 5th inst.in the 68 year of his age.  He was born in Tennessee, and went with his parents to Missouri before he reached his minority.  When the War Between the States broke out, he joined the Confederate Army, and when it was no longer safe for his family to remain in their native state, he moved them to Texas, and continued a brave and gallant soldier until the Southern banner was furled.  There were many Missouri patriots who moved their families to Texas during those dark days, where they would be safe from the murderous and thieving hands of the human wolves that prowled over the land. After the return of peace some returned to their homes, but others remained in Texas and, with the same indomitable energy that characterised them during the war, have aided in making Texas the great and glorious state that it is.
Mr. Prigmore bought a farm near Pilot Grove, where he lived, loved and honored by all who knew him, until he went home to be no more on earth.  He was a successful farmer, a useful citizen and noble Christian gentleman.  His funeral was preached by Eld. J.W. Connelly to a large concourse of friends under two stately oaks that stand in the Pilot Grove cemetery.
