Denison Section 9 Clema Payne 1871 - 1958 Alden C. Payne 1875 - 1960 The Denison Press Friday, October 24, 1958 Funeral services for Mrs. A.G. Payne, 87, were held at Johnson-Moore chapel Tuesday afternoon, October 21 at 4 o'clock. Rev. W.E. Peterson, pastor of Waples Methodist church and Rev. G.C. Sharp of McKinney officiated. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. Payne, a resident of Denison all her life and daughter of Denison's first police officer, died in Madonna hospital Monday at 3:50 p.m. after a few days of illness. She had been in the hospital 3 days. Deceased was born in the Pottsboro area, September 25, 1871, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Daniels and was only a few months old when the family moved to Denison. She was educated in Denison schools and was married in Dallas October 6, 1903 to A.G. Payne, a grocerman and Katy employee. She was the oldest member of the First Christian church. The Paynes lived with their daughter, Mrs. Ralph Johnson, 829 W. Bond. Mrs. Payne is survived by her husband and daughter; 2 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
