The Denison Press Wednesday, May 24, 1938 pg. 1 DIES TWO DAYS AFTER 56th WEDDING DATE Mrs. G.W.Cooper, 74, died suddenly at her home, 317 West Texas Street, Tuesday at 1:35 p.m. following an illness of only a few hours. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Trinity Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul O. Cardwell, assisting. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Short-Murray directing. Mrs. Cooper was born August 30, 1863 in Arora, Illinois, as daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Marcy where she was reared and received part of her education. She moved to Delaware when 13, later residing at Emporia where she finished her education. She married Mr. Cooper at that point in 1882. The couple observed their 56th wedding anniversary last Sunday. She was a member of the Methodist church and is survived by her husband; two sons, Frank J. Cooper of Muskogee and Geo. A. Cooper of Denison; two daughters, Mrs. Clay Sanford of Heavener, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Leroy Cole of Denison and a brother, John Marcy of New York city. Seven grandchildren also survive. Rev. W.E. Justice of Albin, Oklahoma, will officiate. Pallbearers will be R.B. Hanna, R.T. Dunn, E.D. Cole, Frank Fisher, Bruce Hibbitt, and Arthur Rowlans. The Denison Press Wednesday, August 17, 1938 pg. 1 GEORGE COOPER DIES TUESDAY AT HIS HOME After a short illness, George W. Cooper died at his home, 317 West Texas Street, Tuesday at 4:40 p.m. Rev. Bruce Hibbitt will officiate at the funeral service to be held at the home Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Short-Murray will handle the arrangements and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.A. Rowland, Robert Dunn, Frank Fisher, Eugene Cole, R.B. Hanna, and Dawson Phillips. Mr. Cooper was born August 6, 1852 to Mr. and Mrs. George W. Cooper at Plainfield. He was educated there and in Independence, Iowa. He was married May 24, 1882 at Emporia, Kansas to Miss Alice E. Marey. He was a retired hotel keeper and farmer. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are two sons, Frank J. Cooper of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and George A. of Denison; two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Sanford of Heavener, Oklahoma, and Mrs. LeRoy Cole of Denison; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Denison Press Friday, February 22, 1957 pg.3 Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Cooper, 61, of 818 E. Morton were held at Bratcher chapel Monday morning with Jim Swafford, minister of Armstrong Church of Christ, officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper died at Madonna Hospital Saturday, February 16, after 7 months of illness. She had been the hospital 2 days. Mrs. Cooper was born in Collinsville, November 9, 1895, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Williamson. She was married in 1927 to Frank Cooper. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Cooper's only survivor is her husband. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
