April 13, 1953 FRANK SLAGLE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS Frank Slagle, carpenter and former grocer here, died todaqy at 4 a.m. in a local hospital after a long illness and 3 months in the hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Bratcher-Moore chapel with Rev. W.O. Bucy, Trinity Methodist pastor, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemtery. Slagle was born at Cookville, Tennessee and married Inez Weaver at Sherman in 1904. He operated a grocery store at the cornre of Nelson and Crockett for 21 years. He moved to Denison from Illinois 53 years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Odd Fellows. Survivors include his widow; 3 sons, Bert Slagle of Denison; Glen Slagle of Houston; and Bob Slagle of Dallas; 2 daughters, Mrs. James Daugherty of Denison and Mrs. Bill Fehmel of Bay City; 2 brothers, R.C. Slage of Sherman and J.A. Slagle of Denver, Colorado; sister, Mrs. W.F. Weaver of Denison; and 8 grandchildren. SLAGLE FUNERAL HELD Funeral services for Benjamin Frank Slagle were held Sunday afternoon in Bratcher-Moore chapel with Rev. W.O. Bucy, Trinity Methodist pastor, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, and pallbearers were A.H. Sanderson, William Barry, Harry Steele, E.S. McIntyre, A.Y. Maxwell and Charles Harris. April 3, 1960 TUESDAY FUNERAL SET FOR MRS. FRANK SLAGLE Funeral for Mrs Frank Slagle, 75, of 214 East Morgan were held Tuesday afternoon in Johnson-Moore chapel with Rev, A,D, Campbell and Rev. H. Daniel Morgan, First Christian pastor, officiating, Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Slagle died at Denison Manor Sunday at 12:10 p.m. after a year's illness. She was born May 26, 1884 in Wabash County, Indiana. She attended local schools and married Benjamin Frank Slagle July 27, 1904 in Sherman. He died in 1953. She was a member of Trinity Methodist church. Mrs. Slagle helped her husband in the grocery business at 601 South Crockett for 20 6years, Survivors include 3 sons, Bert of Denison; Glen of Houston; and Bob Slagle of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lois Daugherty of Denison and Mrs. Hazel Fehmel of Bay City; brother, Burr S. Weaver of Schenectady, New York; 3 sisters, Mrs. P.C. May, Sr. of Denison; and Mrs. Matt Cram and Mrs. A.E. Little, both of Dallas; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. April 5, 1960 Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Slagle, pioneer Denison resident, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Johnson-Moore chapel. Rev. Ray Flaherty, Trinity Methodist pastor, and Rev. A.D. Campbell of Sherman officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery with Charles Harris, E.L. Hopkins, P.C. May, Billy Bishop, Harry Steele, and David Lamb as pallbearers. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
