Denison Section 8 Matilda Belle Johnson 28 March 1873 - 21 December 1955 The Denison Press Friday, December 30, 1955 pg. 3 Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Belle Johnson, 82, were held Friday afternoon, December 23, at Funderburk's chapel. Rev. Herman Crews, pastor of the Nazarene church and Rev. John Houlton of Gainesville, officiated and interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson died in Denison Hospital the preceding Wednesday after an illness of 4 weeks. She had been hospitalized one week. Her home is at 1403 S. French. Mrs. Johnson was born in Vandulia, Illinois, March 28, 1873, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Crossman. She had lived in Bokhoma, Oklahoma before coming to Denison 23 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors are a son, Sherman Johnson, Denison; 2 daughters, Mrs. Pearl Hagood and Miss Alma Myers, both of Denison; and 2 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gene Hagood; Bill Thornton; L. Waters; J.W. Waters; Ira Bush; and Henry Pinkey. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
