The funeral will take place this evening at 2 o'clock from his residence, corner of Woodard street and Rusk Avenue, when all friends and acquaintances of the family are invited. The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, May 1, 1898 pg.4 AT REST Miss Emma Allen, who died the early part of the week was laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest that ever paid respect to the memeory of the dead. The floral offerings were profuse and magnificent. Rev. Armstrong of Grace Church conducted the services at the family home, No. 1114 South Houston Avenue, the choir of that church assisting with sweet and appropriate music. Miss Allen's death was a sad blow to a large circle of admiring friends. She was the idol of doting parents, who will receive the condolence of the entire community. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
