Denison Section 7 Frank O. Goltra 19 May 1866 - 10 May 1936 The Denison Press Monday, May 11, 1936 pg. 1 FRANK GOLTRA, KATY EMPLOYE, DIES SUNDAY Frank O. Goltra, connected with the Katy as switchman, died Sunday morning at 1 o'clock at the Kath hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for several weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday from the family residence, 127 E. Heron. The B. of R.T. will have charge at the grave. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Short-Murray directing. Rev. Ernest Jones, pastor of the Southside Christian church and Rev. John Andrews of Dallas will officiate. Mr. Goltra was born in Campaign County, Illinois, May 19, 1866, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Goltra. He received his education in that state, later moving with the family to Labette County, Kansas. He became connected with the Katy out of Parsons as a brakeman and later moved to Denison. He was transferred to the fuel department and after being connected for several years with that, accepted employment as a switchman, continuing in that capacity since 1905. He entered the Katy hospital in February of this year. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jennie Goltra; five sons, E.R. Goltra, Los Angeles; Chas.Goltra, Sacramento and Geo. Goltra of this city; Ray Goltra, Los Angeles, and Jack Goltra, Los Angeles. A daughter, Mrs. L.L. Elliot, lives at Pasadena. He was a member of the B. of R.T. of this city. Four brothers and a sister are A.M. Goltra, Albany, Oregon; J.A. Goltra, S.F. Goltra and E.J. Goltra, all of Parsons, and Mrs. Minnie Galley, Arcadia, Kansas. Services will be at the family residence, 127 E. Heron and Rev. John L. Andrews, Dallas, former pastor, will officiate, assisted by Earnest Jones, of the South Side Christian Church. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Short-Murray directing. At the grave the B. of R.T. will have charge. Pallbearers will be T.G. Gill, C.D. Carroll, John T. Carroll, C.H. GOLTRA, FORMER DENISON WOMAN, BE BURIED HERE MONDAY Mrs. F.O. Goltra, 69, former Denison woman, but who had been residing with a niece at Golden, Colorado, died in that city Friday afternoon at 4:30. The body will arrive in this city and funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, likely. Mrs. Goltra lived the greater part of her life in Denison, having moved here 44 years ago. Her husband died last May at their home which was at 127 E. Hull street. She was a member of the ladies' auxiliary to the B. of L.E. and of the Woman's Benefit association. Her church membership was at the Southside Christian Church of this city. The Denison Press Monday, January 25, 1937 pg. 4 SERVICES FOR MRS. GOLTRA HELD TODAY Services for Mrs. F.O. Goltra, who died Friday afternoon in Colorado, will be held from the Short-Murray chapel Monday at 4 p.m. with Rev. Earnest Jones of the Southside Christian Church officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood, Short-Murray conducting. Pallbearers will be Charles Bates, Raymond Bailey, J.M. Farley, Corey Hubbard, Sol Bishop, Victor Morefield, Gene Kennedy, Sr. and Gene Kennedy, Jr. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
