Funeral services for Mrs. O.M. Covington, 73, of Poteau, Oklahoma, were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Saturday afternoon with Rev. Duke Barron officiating.  Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.
Mrs. Covington died suddenly at her home Thursday, January 5, at 3:20 a.m.
She was born in Fairlee, Texas May 3, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newt Hammer.  She was married in 1904 to O.M. Covington, who survives her.  She was a member of Waples Memorial Methodist Church.
Other survivors are two sons, Leon "Dibble" Covington of Calhoun, Alabama and Phillip S. Covington, Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Moore, Denison; a sister, Mrs. Ott Lackey, Whitewright and other relatives.

Funeral services for O.M. Covington, 76, of Durant, were held at Johnson-Moore chapel with the Rev. W.E. Peterson officiating.  Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Covington, a former member of the Denison police department, died at his home in Durant, September 24, at 9:30 a.m. after three years of ill health.
He was born in Tennessee September 8, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Covington.  He received his education in Tennessee and was married in Fairley, Texas to Miss Austin May Hammer.  He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors are two sons, Leon Covington, Calhoun, Alabama and P.C. Covington, Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Moore, Denison; three brothers, Horace and Clarence Covington, Denison, and Robert Covington, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Taylor and Mrs. Ralph Wood, Denison; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
