Ed Luethcke Dead
No death that has occurred in Denison in some time has been more painfully received than the sudden passing away of our pioneer townsman, Ed Luethcke.  He had returned from the East only a day or so ago, but on his arrival home complained that he was a very sick man.
Mr. Luethcke left here about ten days ago for St. Louis, intending to look around for a new location, but stated to the writer that he did not like the country and was glad to get home.
He died very suddenly of heart trouble at his home, No. 522 West Heron street, Thursday morning.
Ed Luethcke was the Gazetteer's neighbor for a long period, and we learned to esteem him very much.  He was a very intelligent and interesting man.  In his day he had been a very estensive traveler, and was a close observer.
He wan an inventor of no mean ability, and had at one time invented a boat, but the matter fell through owing to the appropriation of funds by a partner.  As a merchant tailor he was not excelled in Denison. He was a whole-souled, noble-hearted man who made friends and kept them.  He was of German extraction, coming to this country at an early age.  He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, and besides his wife is survived by two sons, John W. Luethcke of Kansas City, Mo., and Ed Luethcke, Jr. of this city.
The deceased was at the time of his death aged 61 years and 15 days.  The interment was in the Oakwood cemetery under the auspices of the Woodmen of the World.
Peace to his ashes!  A good man, a faithful husband and parent has gone to eternal rest.
