The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, September 8, 1907 In the fire Bud Freels, a member of the fire department, lost his life, and A.L. Smith was seriously injured. Freels was a single man, and had been a resident of Denison for many years. As a mark of respect to the memory of Freels, Mayor Acheson issued a proclamation requesting the merchants to close the doors of their business houses during the funeral hours. The dead fireman was interred at Oakwood cemetery.  OAKWOOD CEMETERY
