Preston 22 August 1886 - 7 July 1948 The Denison Press Friday, July 16, 1948 DEATHS Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Vivian Preston, who died at her home, 1024 West Woodard street, were conducted Friday afternoon from the Bratcher-Moore Funeral Home. Services were conducted by Rev. Guy Newman and Rev. Ronald Price, pastor and assistant pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment was at Fairview [sic] with the Mistletoe Lodge G.I.A. No. 181 in charge. Pallbearers were C.R. Williams, R.B. Richardson, Guy Story, J.P. McFerran, W.M. Kelly and Wilson Thompson. The Denison Press Friday, March 20, 1959 pg. 2 Deaths Funeral services for Charles E. Preston, 72, were held at Johnson-Moore Chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Ronald Prince of Paris officiated and interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Preston, retired Katy engineer, died in the Katy Employees Hospital Saturday, March 14, at 6:35 p.m. after several years of illness. He had been in and out of the hospital several times, and had been there six weeks this time when death occurred. His home is at 1024 W. Woodard. He was born in Fayetteville, Tenn. Aug. 6, 1885 [sic] and came to Denison with his parents while an infant. He attended Denison schools and was married to Miss Carrie Richardson in Denison in 1906. She died on July 9, 1948. He was married to Mrs. Johnny B. Ross in Sherman, Nov. 5, 1951. He had worked for the Katy for 43 years and retired in 1951. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the B. of L.E. Survivors are his widow; two sons, Willis Preston of Denison and Harry E. of Houston; five brothers, Harry of Houston, Alva of Denison, Riley of San Bernardino, Calif., Walter of Oklahoma City, Fred of Oregon and Sam of California, and three grandchildren.
