Denison Section 6 Martin V. Heck 1840 - 1912 Anna E. Heck 1853 - 1937 The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, February 25, 1912 pg. 4 HOME NEWS The Gazetteer regrets to chronicle the death of Martin Van Buren Heck, which took place at his home, No. 705 W. Walker street, about noon last Wednesday. The immediate cause of death was diagnosed as pneumonia, but Mr. Heck had been failing for a year or more incapacitating him for work. He was 72 years of age. He came to Denison in 1873, and if our memory is not at fault, served for a time on the city police force under the Shrader administration. He was a carpenter by trade and built a number of the first houses erected in the new city and soon earned the reputation of being a superior mechanic in his line. He was a very fast workman, very few carpenters being able to turn out as much work in a day as he, and it was the same with him whether working on a contract or by the day. He was an ex-Confederate soldier, and for several years a member of Denison Camp, U. C.V. Funeral services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon.
The Denison Press Friday, March 11, 1960 pg. 3 C. L. HECK Funeral services for C.L. Heck, 68, who died at his home, 825 Burnett avenue, were conducted Friday by Rev. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. M.V. Heck. His schooling was received in Denison schools. He was in the emigration service department. His membership was with the Baptist church.
