Pike (Shadrach Jasper Pike) Sherman Daily Democrat Register December 4, 1933 Sherman, Texas - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Pike, 77, who died Sunday at 3:45 a.m. at her home on East Munson street, Denison, were held Sunday afternoon from the Calvary Baptist Church of Denison, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. L. R. Lamb. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery near Denison under the direction of the Dannel-Scott Funeral home of Sherman. Mrs. Pike is survived by three sons and a daughter, including D. T. Pike of Holdenville, Okla., W. J. Pike of Bennington, Okla., E. M. Pike of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. John Hodges of Denison. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, by a brother, Tom Moss and a sister, Mrs. Jennie East, both of Patrick Co, Virginia. Mrs. Pike was born in Patrick County, Virginia on June 17, 1856. She came to Denison from Bennington, Oklahoma in January, 1933, to live with her daughter. She had been a member of the Baptist church at Ambrose for 50 years. Mrs. Pike was a minister of the Missionary Baptist Church from 1911 to 1916. Her husband, the late Rev. S. J. Pike who was a minister of the Missionary Baptist Church, died at Pottsboro in 1921 and is also interred at Oakwood cemetery. Grandsons of Mrs. Pike served as pallbearers. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
