Thursday, July 13, 1939 pg. 4 Funeral services for John Newcomb, 62, a taxi operator and resident of Denison 28 years, who died suddenly at his home, 600 East Sears street, Tuesday, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Short-Murray chapel with Rev. J.F. Murrell, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery, Short-Murray directing. Pallbearers were T.L. Lankford, Ernest Fis her, John Van Winkle, Buster Frakes, R.C. Marlow and Roy Connally.  OAKWOOD CEMETERY
