Denison Section 4 Annie L. Bartee 15 March 1872 - 27 July 1941 W.M. Bartee 30 October 1869 - 25 October 1950 The Denison Press Thursday, 24 July 1941 MRS. W.M. BARTEE Mrs. W.M. Bartee, 1731 W. Bond street, died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, following a stroke of paralysis. She had resided in Denison for 59 years. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Short-Murray chapel with Rev. James G. Oglesby officiating, assisted by Rev. Bruce Hibbett. Interment will be at Oakwood with Short-Murray directing. Mrs. Bartee was born March 15, 1872 at Groesbeck, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Babb. She was married Nov. 12, 1889 at Denison. She was a member of Waples Methodist church. Surviving are her husband and son Willie of this city. Three daughters also survive, Mrs. Vera Jones, Oklahoma City, and Misses Mattie and Vera Barbee of Dallas and Denison, respectively. Brothers are High Babb and Arthur Babb of Denison. The family moved from Goresbeck while the daughter was a small girl coming to Denison where she has resided since. Her schooling was received in the Denison schools. The Denison Press Friday, November 3, 1950 Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Thursday Oct. 25 for William M. Bartee, 80, who died suddenly at his home, 1731 W. Bond, Tuesday, October 24. Dr. H.C. Henderson of Waples Methodist church conducted the services and burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Bartee was a retired contractor. He was born in Bryan, Texas, Oct. 30, 1869, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Bartee. He was married in Denison in 1889 to Miss Annie L. Babb. He was a member of Waples Methodist church. Survivors are one son, Willie, of Denison; two daughters, Mrs. C.H. Jones, Oklahoma City and Miss Mattie Bartee, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. N.E. Hightower, Denison, and Mrs. C.A. Shaw, Big Spring; a grandson, Clarence Jones, Denison; a granddaughter, Mrs. L.L. Cottrell, Alameda, Cal.; and two great grandchildren.
The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, October 13, 1901 pg. 3 CONDENSED HOME NEWS Tuesday, October 8 Johnnie, the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Bartee, died of typhoid fever last Saturday. The deceased was 11 years.
