The Denison Press January 31, 1958 DEATHS Jerry M. Smith, 64, Denison butcher, died in the Veterans Administration hospital in McKinney Friday, January 17, after a year of illness. He had been in the hospital two weeks. Funeral services for Mr. Smith were held at Bratcher Funeral Chapel Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Charles Hand officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Mulberry, Ark., Feb. 15, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bege Smith. He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War I. He was married to Mrs. Marie Benedict in 1931. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Jerry M. Smith, 226 N. 8th; two sons, Jerry M. Smith, Jr., and John Henry Smith, Denison; three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Clark, Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Don Wilson, Marina, Calif., and Miss Paulette Smith, Denison; a brother Theodore Smith, Denison, and six grandchildren.
