Matthews, aged 78 years, died this morning at 7:45 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.M. Eyer. No. 415 West Hull Street, from Bright's disease. He had been seriously ill only a week. The funeral will be held from his late home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The deceased was a well known resident of the South Side, having made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Eyer, since the death of his wife in 1899. He leaves four [sic] sons and two daughters to mourn his death. They are W.C. and R.C. Matthews of Alba, Texas; F.M. Matthews of Reagan; L.T. and P.S. Matthews of Denison; Mrs. H.P. Gordon of Amos, I.T., and Mrs. Eyer of this city. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
