Friday, May 25, 1951 pg. 14 Funeral services for Tom Shindler, 58, Denison farmer for the past 33 years, who died in a local hospital May 17, were held at the First Baptist church Saturday with Rev. W.B. Billingsley officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery, with Bratcher-Moore, funeral directors, in charge. Mr. Shindler was born February 23, 1893, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Shindler. He attended school in Fayburg and Marshall and was married in McKinney, July 16, 1913 to Miss Millie M. Dodson. They lived in Yarnably, Oklahoma before moving to Denison. He was a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his widow of Denison; 4 sons, Lawrence, Odus and Arel, all of Denison; and Cpl. John Shindler of Sheppard Field; 6 daughters, Mrs. J.C. Floyd and Miss Connie Shindler, Denison; Mrs. Elmer Haynes, Coppell; Mrs. J.W. Southerland, Ft. Worth; Mrs. Vernon Foster, Mountainview, Oklahoma; and Mrs. D.L. Forsythe, Clinton, Oklahoma; one half-brother, Lewis Dickson, Denison; 3 sisters, Mrs. M. Reynolds, Denison; Mrs. Maud Moore, Sherman; and Mrs. Roy Trevehon, St. Louis; 27 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Gandy, who died at the home of a daughter near Sherman, Saturday after a long illness. Services were conducted by Rev. Bob Ramsay and burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. Shindler was born in Texas February 1, 1899, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dodson. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Survivors include 4 sons, Arel Shindler, Clinton, Oklahoma; Otis, John and Lawrence of Denison; 6 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Floyd and Mrs. Florence Haynes and Mrs. Ruth Foster of Frisco and Mrs. Melva Southerland of Ft. Worth; 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 29 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
