Ackason 1865 - 1949 Sherman Democrat June 9, 1949 page 2 DENISON -- James Edward Ackason, 84, a farmer, died at his home on Route 1 Thursday at 2:50 p.m. following an illness of five years. Funeral services will be conducted at Bratcher-Moore chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. with Paul Wallace, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Ackason was born in Missouri, March 15, 1865, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathis W. Ackason. He received his schooling in Bonham and was married in Sherman, Jan. 3, 1917 to Miss Nellie McCarroll. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. J. E. Ackason, a daughter, Mrs. Lola McCarroll of San Antonio, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. November 7, 1969 Mrs. Nellie Ackason, 83 of the Ambrose area, died today at 1:35 a.m. at a local hospital following an illness of a year. She was hospitalized 2 weeks. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Bratcher chapel with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Ackason was born Nellie McCarroll, September 10, 1886 in Sharpe County, Arkansas, and had lived in this area for 52 years. She married J.E. Ackason January 3, 1917 in Denison. He died in 1949. She was a menber of the Armstrong Church of Christ. Survivors are a step-daughter, Mrs. Lola McCarroll of San Antonio; sister, Miss Fannie McCarroll of Denison; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
