Mary Virginia "Fairy" Tabb, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Sherman Healthcare Center.
Fairy was born August 28, 1919, in Tyler, Texas, and was the oldest child of the late Thomas Butler and Jane Dorsey-Butler. Fairy was baptized at an early age and a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Until her death, she was the oldest living member of Mt Olive.
She united in marriage to L. D. Tabb Sr, who preceded her in death.
Fairy was also preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, (Bobby Don Cobb), four sisters, Rosa, Ruth, twins, Betty and Billie Joyce, and two brothers, Robert "Bonnie," and Jack.
Fairy is survived by her beloved family, one step-son, L. D. Tabb, Jr, of Denison, TX; three brothers, Thomas Butler and wife, Octavia of Oakland, CA, Eugene Butler of San Diego, CA, and Roger Butler and wife, Travis of Belleville, IL; three sisters, Pauline Drake of Houston, TX, Laverne Thompson of Wichita Falls, TX, and Muriel Sterling and husband, Lawrence of Oakland, CA; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Bell-Butler and Joyce Gaffney-Butler both of Denison, TX and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Mt Olive Baptist Church, in Denison, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 with Rev S. D. Breaux officiating. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Denison.
Arrangements were under the directions Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.
